Who comes to live in St Andrews's House?

St Andrew’s House provides residential care for those aged 60 and over, who may or may not be adherents to a Christian church and under certain circumstances may not currently be residents of Coventry and District.

We keep one room available for short stays (respite care) and many people have found this a good introduction to the home before they need to come on a permanent basis. This also provides opportunity for carers to take a well earned holiday, secure in the knowledge that their relative is being cared for while they are away.

Some friends from the local Churches associated with the home elect to have their name entered onto a long-term waiting list, so that they are known to the home prior to needing accommodation.

Prior to admission to St Andrew’s House, the Manager will arrange to visit and assess whether the home will be able to provide the care a prospective resident needs at that time. When people move in they have one month to decide whether this is 'the place for them'. During this period, the aim is to achieve a plan of care with which everyone involved is happy.
