Report from the Hog Roast in September 2011

Our Annual Hog Roast was held this year on the 10th September 2011. Despite the uncertainty of the weather (with heavy gusts of winds and an occasional light shower) our family, friends  and supporters had a pleasant afternoon, listening to the Dayspring Steel band and enjoying roast pork, salads, cakes and cups of tea,

As usual, a raffle was held and we thank all of those who donated the prizes.

We also thank the gentlemen who ran the bar for their contribution to the day and for giving us the opportunity to try  bottled organic cider and local beer e.g. Coventry Bitter, We will provide a link to their website, in gratitude, once they have it established.

The event raised several hundred pounds for our redevelopment appeal, and this brings the total amount of money raised or donated so far in this tax year to approximately £115,000.

We are also extremely grateful to the gentleman who felt moved to present us with a cheque for £1050 and thank him for his generosity.

As we move towards phase II of our redevelopment, to complete the basement rooms, laundry and elevator, we will need to raise a further £300,000. This is in addition to our long term plan of reducing a substantial mortgage  which we took on to get phase I underway (Phase I, now complete, was the shell of the extension, the roof and first 8 rooms).

We continue to say  a Big THANK YOU to all our Friends and Supporters
